This Sunday we saw our craft evening once again being a big hit with the local people in Pontcanna and the surrounding area. This time we were celebrating Valentine's day by teaching our team of crafters how to make a cushion. The cushion cover was made from calico with a felt 'LOVE' design in a choice of either pink or red. Within the heart-shaped 'O' was another heart made from floral patterned fabric or cream felt. Additional details were added using small ribbon bows and heart shaped wooden buttons.
The idea of craftycakes is to encourage people to get involved in different crafts. Many people would love to get involved but lack the confidence or just simply don't know where to start! It's also great for those who already love craft but would like to socialise with like-minded people. The less confident crafters from our previous event who returned for our Valentine's crafting had made a big improvement in their stitching and confidence! Well done to everyone who came! - Everyone did exceptionally well!

We encourage our crafters to fill in feedback forms at the end of our events just so we can see what we're doing right and where we can improve. So far we have had very positive feedback. We have been complimented on the atmosphere we create and how patient and helpful we are. And lots of good comments on our yummy homemade cakes! What's next? I hear you say... On February 18th we will be decorating The Great Roath Bake Off with various patterned handmade bunting and tablecloths which will also be available for sale at the end of the competition. You will also be able to order any custom items you may wish to purchase.
Following the bake off we will be at the northcote lane market at Milgi on 4th March 2012 and have been asked to supply decorations for various private events... but more on that to come.
Our next craft evening will be on the 11th March where we will be making mothers day presents! We are yet to confirm our location but we will let you know very soon! We sold out of tickets for our Valentine's evening so to avoid disappointment this time make sure you purchase your tickets as soon as you can :)
