Mother's Day Craft Event

Sunday saw another craft event held at Brava Cafe, Pontcanna Street.

This event was Mother's day themed with mothers and daughters crafting together and daughters crafting gifts for their mother's. We saw lots of new faces on Sunday many of who we look forward to seeing at our next event.

The craft involved creating hand made layered fabric flowers with button centres finished in a glass vase. Crafters were provided with templates for varying petal sizes and were provided with a large array of fabrics from which to choose their pattern and colour combinations. It was amazing to see the variety of designs produced by all the ladies.

Lots of happy customers! We hope all your mums enjoy their flowers!
We were also lucky enough to receive some cupcakes from one of our crafters. Emma-Jane has her own Cupcake Kitchen on Crwys Road and we are looking forward to holding events in her tea room in the near future.
We also had our usual stall of hand crafted items available for purchases.
For more pictures from the event visit our facebook page or to purchase hand crafted items visit our Folksy shop.
We look forward to seeing you at future events!

The Great Roath Bake Off

On Saturday 18th Feb, The Coffi House, Wellfield Road, Roath saw the first ever, extremely successful Great Roath Bake Off. Organised by Wayne Courtney, the event saw the Roath community come together for an evening of cake, good company and music.

We were privileged to have been asked to decorate The Coffi House for the event, for which we provided table cloths and bunting galore.

With over 30 entrants there was a fantastic array of baking on display for a panel of four judges to plough their way through. Judges included Nikki from Your Last Mouthful, Matt from Roathcardiff.net, Sarah from The Cakehouse and student journalist Emma Gilbertson

Bakes were judged on three categories; taste, presentation and originality. There were a few soggy bottoms but regular 'good bakes' in honour of Paul Hollywood! First place was awarded to Kate Hughes for her Earl Grey infused Chocolate cake. Unfortunately myself and Jade only got to sample a few of the cakes, but got to enjoy the great atmosphere that the event brought to The Coffi House and great music from Callum Ross.

We really enjoyed being involved in such a wonderful event and looking forward to getting involved in more events organised by Wayne in and around Roath in the future.
