The Great Roath Bake Off

On Saturday 18th Feb, The Coffi House, Wellfield Road, Roath saw the first ever, extremely successful Great Roath Bake Off. Organised by Wayne Courtney, the event saw the Roath community come together for an evening of cake, good company and music.

We were privileged to have been asked to decorate The Coffi House for the event, for which we provided table cloths and bunting galore.

With over 30 entrants there was a fantastic array of baking on display for a panel of four judges to plough their way through. Judges included Nikki from Your Last Mouthful, Matt from Roathcardiff.net, Sarah from The Cakehouse and student journalist Emma Gilbertson

Bakes were judged on three categories; taste, presentation and originality. There were a few soggy bottoms but regular 'good bakes' in honour of Paul Hollywood! First place was awarded to Kate Hughes for her Earl Grey infused Chocolate cake. Unfortunately myself and Jade only got to sample a few of the cakes, but got to enjoy the great atmosphere that the event brought to The Coffi House and great music from Callum Ross.

We really enjoyed being involved in such a wonderful event and looking forward to getting involved in more events organised by Wayne in and around Roath in the future.
